It was said that in the 1912, the Idol of Goddess Sri Kanaka Maha Lakshmi Ammavaru was found in a well. For some reasons, in 1917 the idol was moved from the installed place to other place and at that time the contagious disease plague spread over the visakhapatnam and so many lost their lives. Then it was believed that this might happened because of moving the installed idol from its original place and immediately re-stored to its orginal position.
